THE INDIPENDENCE DAY
January 17, 2009 Wachovia Center, Philadelphia, PA- Metallica a Philadelphia (l'ultima volta era stata nel 2004 per il Madly in Anger With the World tour) per la sedicesima volta: la città, situata in Pennsylvania, è una delle più antiche degli States e qui vennero redatte la Costituzione Americana e la Dichiarazione d'Indipendenza (1776). I Metallica ci sono arrivati la prima volta nel 1985, nel tour di Ride The Lightning, allorchè suonarono 5 pezzi 'nuovi' concludendo la scaletta con Creeping Death. Stavolta la morte strisciante arriva subito dopo le opener di Death Magnetic, ed è seguita proprio da Ride The Lightning. Seconda parte incendiata da All Nightmare Long, Master Of Puppets, Blackened e Whiplash. Seek & Destroy concllude come sempre il massacro.
